Aquaponics

Aquaponics
Aquaponics is known as the system of sustainable production of plants and fish that combines traditional aquaculture, which is the breeding of aquatic animals such as fish, crayfish and shrimp; with hydroponics, growing plants in water in a symbiotic environment.
The most recommended plants in this system are leafy vegetables (lettuce) and aromatic plants (basil, mint, oregano), because they are short-cycle crops.

How does aquaponics work?

Aquaponics is a sustainable system of simultaneous production of plants and fish that combines traditional aquaculture (cultivation of aquatic plants) with hydroponic cultivation (cultivation of plants without substrate but in water with dissolved nutrients) in a symbiotic environment in which plants they benefit.
The plants facilitate the cleaning of the water to return it to the fish, which aims to prevent excessive consumption of water in the aquaculture process and at the same time avoids having to be supplying nutrients to the plants for their growth, which leads to a mutual collaboration between fish and plants.

Cómo iniciar tu sistema de acuaponía?
This method is that it not only guarantees that the food is organic, but it can also be produced in relatively small places or with little space for cultivation; It allows local production, so food transport over long distances is avoided and fresh food is available that can be obtained easily and quickly in the process.
